How to Dock a Boat Alone with Bow & Stern Thrusters | HOLD Function Explained (Sleipner SE80)

In this video, I show how I use bow and stern thrusters to dock my boat safely and with full control — even when operating alone. The system I’m using is the Sleipner PRO SE80 proportional thruster setup, installed both in the bow and stern. I demonstrate real-life docking situations, including: • Sideways movement into the dock • Reversing with shaft drive • Using variable thrust for precise control • The HOLD function in action The HOLD function is especially useful when docking solo, allowing the boat to stay in position while you handle the lines. With around 10 knots of wind in this video, you’ll see how the system helps maintain control even in slightly challenging conditions. I also share my experience with proportional thrusters compared to traditional on/off systems, and why this setup makes maneuvering much easier and smoother. ⸻ ⚙️ Equipment used: • Sleipner SE80 Proportional Thrusters (Bow & Stern) • Shaft drive boat (35 ft) ⸻ 📍 Filmed in: Norway ⸻ 🔔 Subscribe for more: If you enjoy practical boating tips and real-life experiences from Norway and Sweden, consider subscribing to the channel. ⸻ boat docking, bow thruster, stern thruster, sleipner se80, docking alone, boat handling, proportional thruster, side power, docking tips boat, hold function boat, how to dock boat, marina docking, boat control
