We are switching to sustainable, regenerative agriculture. One of the logical consequences of this is that we are switching to biological agriculture. Farming backwards In the current agricultural system we are farming backwards according to us. Definitely, it brought the Netherlands a lot; plenty of food at attractive prices and amazing export figures. At the same time, this bulk production and scaling targeted agricultural method causes a big emission of greenhouse gasses, forms an attack on the biodiversity and on the landscape. So we as producers are at great risk because of the shrinking margins and it leads to a worrying soil compaction at our farm. Farming forwards So it is time to change. For an arable farmer it isn't easy to leave this system., because the existing foodsystem en the regulations are mainly adapted to mass production. However, BI-JOVIRA is going to give it a try.
