Barbara Dickson - Dream Angus
Barbara Dickson sings Dream Angus from the 2008 album Time and Tide. Dream Angus is a sort of Scottish Sandman who helps children off to sleep. The illustrations are by Jessie M King. King was born in Bearsden, Glasgow, and studied at Glasgow School of Art. She was one of the most commercially successful designers and illustrators to emerge from Glasgow at the end of the 19th century. Her output was prolific. King worked in many media, but won international recognition for her book illustrations, producing images for more than 200 over a period of 50 years. At the same time, she was making and selling greetings cards, bookplates, paintings, glazed ceramics, batik textiles, as well as designs for fabrics, children's furniture, silver, enamelwork and jewellery.
