gLOCAL2024, The Role of MEL in NGOs in Latin America and the Caribbean, June 6
This session examined the MEL journey of NGOs in Latin America and the Caribbean. Presenters were Karla López, Senior MEL Coordinator at Pan American Development Foundation, Perú: Silvana Lorenzini, Evaluation Coordinator at Fundación Luksic; Nadine Chambers Goss, Executive Director, RISE Life Jamaica and Georgia Crawford -Williams, Consultant Sociologist, Media Practitioner and Capacity-Building Expert. The session traced the development, implementation, and use of MEL in NGOs in these two regions over the last 10 years. The presentations focused on:- (1) lessons learnt by NGOs in both regions as they seek to implement and use MEL in their organisations, (2) whether the work environment has been conducive and supportive of MEL, and (3) what opportunities are there for NGOs to identify, support or drive Transformational change through the use of MEL Systems.
