The latest developments in the construction of the Jogja-Solo Toll Road have once again shown significant progress. This time, work is focused on Section 2, Package 2.1, from Purwomartani to the Maguwoharjo North Ring Road area, which is now beginning to show visible signs of construction on the ground. As we all know, the Purwomartani-Maguwoharjo section is a crucial part of the Jogja-Solo Toll Road's connectivity to Yogyakarta City and its surrounding areas. Currently, the approximately 3.7-kilometer project is being accelerated with a target completion date of December 2026. Construction work has entered a crucial phase. In the field, heavy equipment, including foundation drilling machines, has begun operating on the southern side of the North Ring Road. This phase is a crucial part of the construction of the elevated toll road's substructure. Approximately 60 pillars will be erected along the Purwomartani to Maguwoharjo route. These pillars will support the toll road structure that passes over the Selokan Mataram area and the North Ring Road. Interestingly, the toll road access design in the Maguwoharjo area separates the entrance and exit ramps. The entrance ramp, or on-ramp, is planned to be located on the north side of the Ring Road, while the exit ramp is located on the south side. This concept is designed to ensure smooth traffic flow and prevent congestion, given that the North Ring Road area is one of the busiest routes in Yogyakarta. Meanwhile, land acquisition continues to show positive progress. As of May 2026, the land acquisition process reportedly reached approximately 95 percent of the total land requirement affected by the project. Meanwhile, the construction of pillars in the North Ring Road area is now starting to attract public attention as the construction phase is already clearly visible on the ground. However, because the project is located on an active urban route, traffic management and signage are also ongoing to ensure the safety of road users during construction. Entering the next phase, work in the central area of ​​the North Ring Road is expected to begin in the next few months. This situation is likely to affect traffic flow patterns in the Maguwoharjo area and its surroundings. In addition to focusing on construction, outreach to affected residents in the Ringinsari and Sembego areas is also ongoing to provide understanding regarding the toll road construction phases. With steady progress, foundation work underway, pillars erected, and the toll road alignment slowly becoming visible, the construction of the Purwomartani-Maguwoharjo section of the Jogja-Solo Toll Road has truly entered a crucial phase towards new connectivity for Yogyakarta.
