🎵 Workin' For What? Brian Bailey🎵 A little behind-the-scenes note on this one... I had dental surgery today, so singing wasn't really an option. My mouth wasn't cooperating, and trying to force vocals would've sounded rough. Instead of scrapping the idea, I decided to lean into it and make this one a spoken-word rap. Honestly, it ended up fitting the song better than I expected. "Workin' For What?" is basically that conversation a lot of people have with themselves on the drive home after a long day. The frustration. The sarcasm. The questions about why it feels like you're working harder and harder just to stay in the same place. Sometimes limitations force you to try something different, and sometimes different ends up being exactly what the song needed. Let me know what you think of this style. It's not something I do often, but given today's circumstances, it seemed like the right approach.
