They devour widows’ houses and for a show make long prayers. They will receive a greater condemnation.” Then Jesus sat down opposite the place where the offerings were put and watched the crowd putting money into the treasury. Many rich people put in large sums. A poor widow came and put in two small coins, all she had to live on. Calling his disciples to him, he said: “Truly I tell you, this poor widow has put in more than all the others.
