At 4.22 meters long and with a robust and compact design, this is a B-segment SUV that stands out for its front end featuring Mitsubishi's Dynamic Shield design language, which introduces a horizontally arranged grille and a new bumper. Additionally, the wheels up to 18 inches provide the sporty touch expected in the segment. The interior of the 2026 Mitsubishi ASX stands out for its use of high-quality materials and a very logical layout of elements, especially thanks to the vertically arranged central screen. Of course, while the trunk of the gasoline or mild hybrid versions is 422 liters, in the case of this hybrid model, the figure is 305 liters, which is nothing to write home about. Be that as it may, the most interesting aspect of this 2026 Mitsubishi ASX test is its mechanicals. It features a hybrid engine that has been significantly updated, going from a 1600 with 94 hp and 148 Nm of torque to an 1800 with 109 hp and 170 Nm of torque, which represents an increase of 15 hp and 22 Nm, in addition to the 49 hp of the front electric motor and the 20 hp of the rear. The result is a faster car that is capable of reducing the 0-100 acceleration time from 9.9 to 8.5 seconds. As for fuel consumption, according to the manufacturer, it's 4.7 liters, and the actual figure is... well, see for yourself in the test! But the truth is, it's pretty close.
