COPA DO MUNDO: por que o Brasil para tudo e a Europa não

There's a phenomenon that only those who lived through the World Cup in Brazil can fully understand: the collective paralysis of an entire country. Offices close early, streets become deserted during game times, the sound of goal celebrations echoes from every window simultaneously, and suddenly all the political, social, and economic complexities of Brazil are suspended for ninety minutes of football. No European who hasn't experienced this can grasp the scale of this experience. In Europe, the World Cup is a major sporting event, with much interest and coverage. But life doesn't stop. In Brazil, during the World Cup, the game is life. Everything else is secondary. This video is my attempt to explain why this happens and what it means for those who live here. Tell me in the comments: where will you be watching Brazil's games in this World Cup? And what was the most exciting game you've ever experienced?
