I decided to service my Haval Jolion 2WD with a manual transmission at 5,051 km. An engine oil change was scheduled. I purchased genuine parts for the service. According to the manufacturer's regulations, the car should be serviced for the first time at 10,000 km (TO-1). This is quite a long mileage before a service, given the turbocharger and the low engine oil level. The engine oil change volume with an oil filter for the GW4G15K engine is only 3.8 liters +/- 0.1 liters. I decided to replace the engine oil with new oil at this mileage. After briefly warming up the engine, I began changing the engine oil. The dealer installed a metal guard on the car upon purchase. The guard has a special opening, covered with a plastic plug, allowing the oil filter to be removed using a special puller without removing the metal guard. This is quite convenient. However, something else is interesting... The skid plate doesn't have a hole for removing the drain plug (bolt), so I'll have to remove the skid plate anyway. If it has to be removed, it has to be removed. After removing the skid plate, we have a great view of the engine compartment underneath. There are no other obstacles to draining the oil. After unscrewing the drain bolt, we drain the engine oil into a container. The drain bolt was very loose and came off without any problem. It felt like it hadn't been tightened at all. I compared the oil pan drain plug gasket (12JB98277) purchased online with the one installed on the car... They were identical, and there were no differences. I immediately thought it would be a good idea to order genuine parts from a trusted source. My mood improved significantly, as the last thing I needed was to stumble upon a Chinese counterfeit and wonder what to do about it. I tried to unscrew the oil filter installed on the car. I couldn't do it by hand, without any tools... I had no idea what to do with a puller specifically designed for removing oil filters on Haval Jolion vehicles. I had no doubts about what to do with it, and it made me smile. Of course, it can be done with a puller with a chain. This universal filter remover has saved me more than once. No sooner said than done... There's plenty of room to unscrew when working with a special tool. The oil filter unscrewed with great effort. Are these filters screwed on by weight lifters at the factory? I compared the oil filters. Wow... They were identical. The oil filters (1017100EG01) had identical markings, workmanship, and appearance. The new oil filter can be installed without any problems. I waited until the used engine oil drained. I tightened the drain bolt with a new oil pan drain plug gasket (12JB98277). I installed a new oil filter, first lubricating the rubber seal with engine oil. I poured new engine oil into the engine. I started the engine and, after a short while, shut it off. I checked the level... I filled it with approximately 3.6 liters, and the dipstick showed 3/4 of the maximum oil level. This is enough to ensure reliable engine operation without overfilling the engine oil. I installed the metal guard in its rightful place. All that remains is to install the decorative engine cover, and the engine oil change is complete. Everything was simple, easy, and successful using genuine consumables, and there were no particular problems. I'm off to enjoy the miles of travel with new engine oil in my new car.
