Melbourne’s Vintage Tram Museum | Victorian Tramway Heritage Centre Bylands

On the 3rd of January 2020, the Victorian Tramway Heritage Centre at Bylands reopened its doors to the public. Located about an hour north of Melbourne, the museum is home to an incredible collection of preserved Victorian trams, tramway artefacts and railway heritage. In this video, we head along to the reopening day to explore the museum, see the trams, take in the atmosphere and look at what was on display. I’ve also included some rare footage from a visit to the museum twenty years earlier in 2000, giving a great then-and-now look at the Bylands tram collection. The Victorian Tramway Heritage Centre is a must-visit for anyone interested in Melbourne trams, Victorian transport history, heritage railways, museums or vintage public transport.
