Oil Painting of Priory Gardens in Greater London

A quiet evening in Orpington, painting in the grounds of the old Priory — medieval walls, a still pond, and that particular green light you only get in an English garden. I set up the easel near the water and tried to hold onto the light before it shifted, which of course it did. This is the second entry in Notes from an Artist's Life in London — a slow, plein air series about painting the city and the green corners just outside it, one location at a time. Oils, weather, and a few hours outside.
