Lord Baube, born to the vampire house of Nightwrath, spent his early years as a mortal human, born before his mother was turned. Raised as an expendable soldier, denied his desired vocation as a wizard since his he wasn't a vampire, per their ancient undead laws. mocked, abused, and neglected, he was desperate to be accepted by his family. When his father, the lord of the house found through research a ritual to turn mortal into vampires he eagerly volunteered to be a test subject. In time, years of pain, the experiment was a success, he became a vampire. But his celebration was short lived. His family planned to kill him the very night he turned. Angry and afraid, he took to his fathers sleeping coffin and drank him dry. before he realized the power he had just consumed, he realized he had to flee. His mother opened the gates just before dawn, and her screams were the last thing he heard of this ancestral home. In time he sought wizards to teach him in the night hours, learning what he could from isolated magic users along his road. he took both sword and spell once he became powerful enough, and began hunting other vampire's and their minions. But he realized quickly this was a mission he could not undertake alone. he needed allies, people he could trust. But who could trust him, a vampire. His once greatest desire had now become his greatest burden. But in his darkest hour, he did manage to find comradery in a select few, dark hearts on their path to redemption called the Saints of Faust, an order focuses on rehabilitating others like himself. in particular, a young vigilante woman name River Shadowmourn, has caught his eye, and his heart.
