In Old Testament times, people built altars to God to commemorate something He had done. Altars served as a memorial to teach succeeding generations about God and His character. Gathering for a family “altar” or a devotional time is a good way to teach our children about God and His ways. It is a time when the family can come together to worship God and pray. It is a time where the family can have close fellowship with God and connects with Him in the spiritual level. During this time, when whole world is under the crisis of pandemic, Jesus is speaking to us and giving an opportunity to restore our family altar which we might have forgotten today in the busy schedule of our daily lives. Making an altar in our homes gives us a dedicated place to separate from the chaos of life and commune facedown with God.The Lord made the family, and He wants His children to approach Him as families. Restoring our family altar in our homes will actually open a gateway to and from Heaven over that place, and we'll have supernatural encounters with God.
