I really want to share with you in this video my warm memories of the Kharkov Zoo. Namely, about the zoo that was before reconstruction, starting from the 1970s and until 2021, before reconstruction! Let's dive into that unforgettable atmosphere with nature and animals, when they came to the zoo as if for a holiday. There was an excellent aquarium here, one could be proud of giraffes, hippos, lions and handsome bears. This zoological park is the oldest in Ukraine. It was first opened to visitors in 1903. Located in the Shevchenko garden. Now, after reconstruction, it is completely different, but just as beloved by Kharkiv residents and guests of the city. In Ukraine, after the Kyiv Zoo, the Kharkiv Zoo occupied the second place in terms of the value of the collection: more than 384 species of animals were kept here. Among them are fish, amphibians, reptiles, birds, mammals. The species were included in the European Red List and in the Red Book of Ukraine, which are included in the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Fauna and Flora...
