#218: Hamfest Find: Video Distribution Amp / 75 vs 50 ohm BNC Connectors
Another hamfest find - a 16x4 channel video distribution amplifier. It was purchased for very little money with the intention of simply harvesting the BNC connectors. I describe the differences between 50 ohm and 75 ohm BNC connectors (and how they can mate safely together). A mini-tear-down is done, taking a look at the chips used inside the unit. A few lab applications are discussed, as well as a few options of what to ultimately do with the unit - harvest the connectors as originally planned, us the unit as is in the lab, or a combination of the two.
