Making something as simple as this can really brighten and change an item in your home - it's easy to do and quick!!! So it's a win win! If you fancy joining me on instagram - my account can be found here : https://www.instagram.com/devon.threa... So for this sew along you will need : Tracing paper pens/pencils Ruler/seam gauge pins or wonder clips Cotton fabric Bias binding - I used 1" / 2.5cm wide Elastic - I used 3/8" / 1cm wide Fabric and Paper scissors Heat Proof Wadding - which you can purchase here : https://www.amazon.co.uk/155cm-Retard... In addition to this you will need your sewing machine and thread. 1) Begin by laying your ironing board on your tracing paper - and trace around 2) Now using your ruler add 7.5cm / 3" around the original traced line 3) Cut this out and trace this onto your chosen cotton fabric 4) Open one side of the bias tape and pin right sides together around the outer edge of your cotton fabric - at the start fold back 1" of the tape, at the end repeat and fold back 1" 5) Stitch using the crease of the bias tape as a guide 6) Fold the bias tape over to the wrong side of the fabric 7) Stitch on the inner edge a few mm from the edge of the bias tape 8) Using a safety pin, thread your elastic through the channel you have created 9) Secure in plece once full threaded through with a safety pin 10) Either trace around your ironing board frame or your original heat proof wadding onto your new wadding and cut out. 11) Finish by laying the new piece of wadding on your frame and covering with your new cover. Adjust the elastic so it is tight. And you have finished!!!! you are now the owner of a shiny new lovely ironing board cover! Thanks again for joining me. Have a good week, and happy sewing Take care Angela xx
