Why graduates of The Citadel, class of 2001, united to attend Conroy funeral
They were at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Beaufort in force on Tuesday, a host of graduates of The Citadel, class of 2001, paying their respects to fellow alum, Pat Conroy. But what made this particular class so committed to attending the funeral of the literary giant that they flew in from as far away as Massachusetts and Colorado? It has everything to do with Pat Conroy, and the values the men learned at their alma mater.
