PAVANATO DETONA RENAN SANTOS, ADMITE ERROS DE BOLSONARO E ELOGIA FLÁVIO: 'MELHOR NOME'

Councilman Lucas Pavanato defended Senator Flávio Bolsonaro in the case involving the financing of a film about former President Jair Bolsonaro. He stated that, so far, there is no proof of illegality or quid pro quo linked to the raising of private funds. In an exclusive interview with Jornal das 6, on 96 FM, alongside Fernando Holiday, Pavanato said that every film needs funding sources and that, at the time the sponsorship was allegedly agreed upon, there was no scandal involving businessman Daniel Vorcaro. According to him, raising private money for an audiovisual production is not, in itself, wrong. Pavanato stated that he would only criticize Flávio if some proof of quid pro quo emerged. For the councilman, speaking of corruption without concrete evidence would be remaining in the realm of "speculation." He also compared the case to suspicions involving judicial authorities and said he sees different weights in the accusations made by the left. The councilman acknowledged, however, that Flávio made political mistakes in the episode. He cited the initial denial about the relationship with Vorcaro and the visit made to the businessman when he was already wearing an electronic ankle monitor as misguided moves by the senator. Fernando Holiday also assessed that there was a strategic error, but did not point to any illegality. According to him, Flávio should have prioritized transparency with voters, even if there were confidentiality clauses in the contract related to the film.
