This morning my alarm went off at 4:00 AM because I'd agreed with Eline that she would start the bakery independently for the first 45 minutes. At 17, I think it's really impressive that she's brave enough to do it. When I came in, everything looked great. There are a few minor points for improvement, but I'm really proud that she's so motivated and dedicated to her craft. As usual, Sofie helps the youngest children with breakfast and taking them to school, etc. I don't mind that so much; it's more her thing than mine. Stan made another flavor of Easter eggs today, and tomorrow we'll be making four more varieties so we're ready for Easter right after Carnival. I really enjoy the fact that we have a different assortment for every holiday, from oliebollen (Dutch doughnuts) for Easter, orange cream puffs, pepernoten (ginger nuts), and stollen (stollen). There's truly something for everything, and the best part is that sausage rolls go with everything😜. Home from school, we enjoyed some delicious fresh ginger tea, and for dinner, we had steak and potato gratin. It was a bit of work, but so delicious. Friday's episode about sausage rolls with me and Eline on Binnenstebuiten will be aired.
