Hawaii Used to Have an Extensive Glacier...

Hawaii used to have an extensive glacier which covered an area of 27 square miles. This glacier existed for more than 90,000 years, albeit intermittently, on the summit of Mauna Kea. Today, abundant glacial deposits from this colder period of time can still be found on its upper flanks and summit area.
