#booktube #cinema #literature #classics Questions about "books and film, or film adaptations." Thomas from the "Schundleser" channel came up with this great idea; he introduced a day titled "Booktube, let's talk about film." So, let's get started! Below you'll find the chapters to choose from, followed by the questions that will be discussed in each chapter. Questions about "books and film, or film adaptations." A Day About Movies 0:00:00 - 0:03:03 Question 1 0:03:04 - 0:04:34 Question 2 0:04:35 - 0:06:36 Question 3 0:06:37 - 0:08:26 Question 4 0:08:27 - 0:18:30 Question 5 0:18:31 - 0:28:21 Question 6 0:28:22 - 0:36:31 Question 7 0:36:32 - 0:40:38 Question 8 0:40:39 - 0:41:26 Question 9 0:41:27 - 0:43:10 Question 10 0:43:11 - 0:55:48 Question 11 0:55:49 - 1:05:26 Question 12 1:05:27 - 1:07:56 And goodbye... 1:07:57 - 1:09:08 Question 1: You're out in the city without an umbrella, and it starts to rain heavily. Do you take refuge in a bookstore, a cinema, or a café? Question 2: Do you usually watch films randomly or casually on TV or streaming services when you're too tired to read? Or do you choose films as consciously as you choose your books? Question 3: Do you have a film collection/a SUF (unseen film pile) at home? Question 4: Have films ever—or perhaps often—led you to major literary discoveries? Question 5: Have you ever enjoyed a film so much that you didn't want to read the book it was based on, for fear of being disappointed? Question 6: When you watch a film adaptation of a book, can you keep your reading and film impressions separate? Or do the actors' faces and mannerisms overshadow the faces and mannerisms of the characters you had in mind? Question 7: If you experience the film first and then read the book, do the film cast and camera work influence your reading imagination? Question 8: Are your favorite film and literature genres the same? Or do you prefer different things depending on the medium? Which ones in each case? Question 9: Do you remember the names of directors as easily as you remember the names of authors? If not, why not? 10) What kind of film adaptation would you like from a book—to be strictly faithful to the book or as free as possible with many of its own ideas? 11) Which is your favorite film adaptation? And which do you find particularly awful? 12) Which book should finally be adapted for the screen again, or even for the first time? I'd like to extend my sincere thanks to Thomas from the "Schundleser" channel for the thought-provoking questions. You can find him here: / @schundleser Everyone who wants to contribute to the questions is explicitly tagged. Ulrich from the Mastercut channel might also contribute something, but he doesn't have to. Here's a link to this interesting channel by filmmakers for filmmakers: / @mastercut I always appreciate feedback, including criticism. Feel free to visit me on Instagram (literaturundwhisky); there you'll find photos and more information. Finally: I'm not advertising anything; I'm simply expressing my opinion. I always buy my own stuff.
