This is part 9 of our kitchen renovation, showing us the dismantling and sale of an old kitchen counter (gas stove, sink, and countertop) that we've been using for 30 years. These counters are damaged and rusty in many places. Naturally, they wouldn't fetch much if we took them to a recycling shop as kitchen counters, but no matter how old they are, metal resources themselves have a certain value, and most scrap metal dealers will buy from ordinary customers as well as corporations and sole proprietors. Thanks to them, our kitchen counter was appraised at such a high price, and we were able to enjoy a delicious dinner that day, but we did have to dispose of the screws as they could puncture other cars if they were left lying around the lot, so we're disposing of them as recyclable metal waste and recycling them at a waste treatment facility. So now that our dilapidated kitchen is neat and tidy, next time we'll take it back to the interior decorator to repaper it.
