You've probably guessed from the splash screen that I'm going to talk about upgrading the audio system. A brief history!!! After driving the Actlander for a year and a half, I began to feel like I needed a new audio system. The stock system, frankly, is so-so. Naturally, I didn't want to spend a fortune. I was wondering if it was possible, in these difficult times (and when they were simpler 🤦‍♂️), to improve the sound for under 10,000 rubles. And I wanted it to sound decent, too, while also soundproofing the doors. I wasn't initially planning on staying within my 10,000 ruble budget, but I decided to test it out. I had three goals in mind: 1. Upgrade the audio system, 2. Improve acoustic comfort through soundproofing, 3. And again, improve door closing through noise insulation. I wasn't planning on replacing the head unit; I'm happy with the stock one. First, I started researching the speaker market. Naturally, I came across speakers for 1,500 rubles, but they're unlikely to sound any better than the stock ones. After some thought and a cursory review of the market, I decided to split the budget into three parts: 1 for the front door speakers, 2 for the rear door speakers, and 3 for soundproofing. Researching speaker replacement technology also entailed the cost of spacer rings—I chose plywood rings, which cost 500 rubles out of my budget. I chose Hertz 165.3-3550 speakers for the front doors. That's already 40% of the budget spent. I decided to look into soundproofing and choose the right one. I combed through a ton of forums and watched a ton of videos (thanks to my subscribers, especially Oleg from Moscow). He provided me with links, which made my search much easier. I chose GB2 2mm vibration-absorbing sheets, 6 liters, and Biplast Premium sound-absorbing material. That's another 4,000 rubles. So, 80% of my budget has been spent, and I still haven't bought the rear door speakers. The only options available for 2,000 rubles were Ural speakers. There's a lot of conflicting information in the reviews for these speakers. But I decided to check it out myself; there was no way around it. The Ural TT 165 cost me 1,900 rubles. I'm curious about which of these I'm buying.
