This took me a long time, and I ended up getting nerve inflammation in my wrists, but it was very satisfying. Like every stretch of this restoration, sandblasting is a world of its own with new products, methods, language, and processes that needed to be learned. In the beginning the pot sandblaster was cutting out a lot. This was due to not enough moisture being taken out of the compressed air in my water trap, as well as not having enough media in the blaster. I've found that too little media at a time doesn't create adequate pressure for the flow to be smooth, you need to put in a whole bag at its much better. I was using a mix of 20-30 and 30-60 grit crushed glass, and found it to be a great media. The grinding discs were black strip discs, which I read were a little softer than the purple ones, making it easier to fit into the many channels in the floor panels. The Deadman's handle that came with the blaster was good for a while, but quickly understood why people made the upgrade to the ball valve. The sand eats away at the nozzle and stopping plate, and it becomes useless. With the ball valve upgrade you can also endlessly spray without fatigue from the handle. The etching on the mask was a big problem. I found some polycarbonate replacements, but they quickly got fogged up. I needed to use my bright sandblast cabinet lights to see anything. There was still some rust pitting left, but it will be neutralized with phosphoric acid when i'm ready to paint. Hope you enjoy, and feel free to ask questions! ▬ Contents of this video ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ 0:00 - Intro 0:30 - Fuel Lines 1:29 - Brake Lines 2:15 - Engine Wiring Removal 5:42 - Brake Lines Continued 7:24 - Shackle Bushings 7:45 - Blast Enclosure 10:28 - Blasting 13:08 - Grinding 14:59 - Upgrades & Advice 17:07 - Results & Outro
