Introduction to the Block Therapy Trauma Relief Summit

I was privileged to cohost the Block Therapy Trauma Relief Summit with the founder of Block Therapy, Deanna Hansen. Block Therapy (BT) is a form of deep myofascial release work. What I experienced as I did this work, along with many of the other students, was that sometimes repressed emotions and traumas that were held in my body would begin to come up to conscious awareness to be dealt with. The purpose of this summit was to teach folks some skills to deal with this repressed emotional material. We were blessed to have interviews with experts in the fields of meridian tapping, TRE, somatic psychotherapy, Reichian breathwork, mindfulness and inquiry, and trauma-informed Qigong as part of this series. These guests shared highly usable information, and concepts are explained in plain English. This is the first interview of the series that I did with Deanna and it covers: 1. Important Mind-Body Healing principles that I use in my medical practice 2. a discussion of the Porges Polyvagal model 3. An overview of our speakers, and what they bring to the table 4. Putting all of these things in context, and how they relate to deep myofascial release, i.e. Block Therapy There's still time to sign up to watch the entire series for free.
