Utilização da Bússola Geológica 2 - Planos inclinados, Regra da Mão Direita e Dip Direction

In this video, we demonstrate how to measure an inclined plane on the flank of a fold using both the right-hand rule or Strike/Dip measurement method, and also using the Dip Direction technique. Both are widely used in Structural Geology for measuring foliation planes, fold flanks, axial planes, hinge lines, shear zones, etc. A Brunton-type geological compass was used, which is more common in structural geology studies due to its lower cost. In the video, we simulate measurements of fold flanks, but the methods can be applied to any type of plane studied in structural geology. For measurements of lines, such as hinge lines and mineral stretching lineations, the measurement method changes slightly, and we will make a video on this subject in the future. We remind you that using the measurements of these planes, fold classifications can be performed, as discussed in another video on our channel; access our Structural Geology playlist. #structuralgeologia #dipdirection #regradamaodireito #bussolageologica #bussolabrunton #geologia
