IBSF World Cup Lillehammer - Women's Skeleton - Heat 1

Lillehammer is the world’s most northerly sliding track and the only artificial track in Scandinavia. In addition to hosting the 1995 Bobsleigh World Championships - which only included the 2-man and 4-man bobsleigh events in those days - Lillehammer was also the venue for the 2016 Winter Youth Olympic Games (YOG). Some of the young athletes competing in the YOG almost exactly ten years ago are now part of the 2025/2026 IBSF World Cup, including 2-woman bobsleigh Olympic Champion Laura Nolte (GER, YOG gold medal winner), women’s skeleton Olympic Champion Hannah Neise (GER, YOG silver medal winner) and the men’s skeleton European Champion Samuel Maier (AUT, sixth at the YOG). Neben der Bob-WM 1995, damals lediglich mit Männer-Zweierbob und Viererbob, war Lillehammer auch Gastgeberort der Olympischen Jugend-Winterspiele (YOG) 2016. Von den jungen Athletinnen und Athleten, die vor fast genau zehn Jahren am Start waren, sind beim IBSF Weltcup 2025/2026 unter anderem Zweierbob-Olympiasiegerin Laura Nolte (damals YOG-Gold), Skeleton-Olympiasiegerin Hannah Neise (GER, YOG-Silber) und Skeleton-Europameister Samuel Maier (AUT, Platz sechs bei den YOG) dabei.
