Gorillas Monta and Momoka at Chiba City Zoo. This video is the second half of the previous video, filmed in late June. The weather that day was unstable, with occasional heavy rain starting and stopping. When it was lightly raining, Monta and Momoka walked around the enclosure, sat side by side, keeping a subtle distance. Then, when the rain started pouring, Momoka took shelter in the grotto on her side. While you can't exactly call their time in that small space 'intimate,' I felt like they had reached a relationship where they could at least be called companions spending time together. As evening approached and it was time to return indoors, Monta checked inside through the keeper’s entrance gate. Due to the rain, treats from the outdoor feeder weren't given that day. Monta was probably wondering, 'No treats today…?' But there was no need to worry. The keepers had prepared feeder treats for them inside their room. The advantage of rainy days is that you can see Monta and Momoka enjoying treats indoors 😄 I don’t know if they spend the night together. However, on this day, they went back to separate rooms, so they’re probably spending the nights apart for now. From this, you can tell that Chiba City Zoological Park is carefully managing Monta and Momoka’s cohabitation stage. In any case, their life together has just begun.
