This 1957 Cadillac Series 62 Convertible is an elegantly looking, ultra-luxurious 50s cruiser with fantastic options and California history. Cadillac introduced its completely redesigned 1957 models at the New York Auto Show, the first one that took place since 1940. In 1957, Cadillacs had a lower stance than previous years, and their hoods and trunks had a flatter, lower look as well. The front headlights on the '57 models also were now "hooded" and the rear "shark" fins, which were adorned in bright chrome, were sloped forward from the rear. Also new for Cadillacs in 1957 were the rubber tipped bumper guards and dual circular parking lights set into the rear bumper. Of the 11 models offered by Cadillac in 1957, 7 were Series 62 models and the most luxurious and expensive Sixty Two was the Series 62 Convertible. This particular '57 Cadillac spent its recent years in the hands of collectors in warm climates including California, Texas, and Florida. Under the hood on this 1957 Series 62 Convertible is the numbers matching 365 Cubic Inch V8 engine with a single 4 barrel carburetor that pushed out 300 horsepower in its day. The 365 V8 is hooked up to a Hydra-Matic Automatic Transmission ensuring that just about anybody can take this Cadillac for a cruise. Being that this convertible is a Cadillac, it is loaded with options! Power steering makes maneuvering this luxury automobile much more comfortable. With Power Brakes, bringing this '57 Series 62 to stop is much easier. The Ivory Vinyl Convertible Top is in wonderful condition and is easily operated with a switch located under the dash. This '57 Cadillac has been beautifully refinished in Dakota Red which is sure to catch many eyes cruising down the road. Sitting on Chrome Wire Wheels with Wide Whitewall Radial Tires, this convertible has a fantastic look and an even better ride. The red leather bench seat interior with front fold-down center console is in very nice shape and it beautifully matches the exterior look of the car. All 4 power windows go up and down with ease and are controlled by switches on the door panels. The electronic trunk lid release also works great and the button is tucked into the glovebox. The padded dash, steering wheel and door panels are all in wonderful condition and all appear to be in their stock configuration.
