Guia de Cursos - Graduação em Oceanografia

The Oceanography course at UFSC lasts 5 years (or 10 semesters). The mandatory subjects of the course are offered in the morning and afternoon periods. Admission to the course occurs annually through the Unified Selection System (SISU) and the UFSC Entrance Exam, with a total of 30 places. The course aims to train professionals with a multidisciplinary profile, capable of understanding the different physical, chemical, biological and geological processes occurring in the oceans and their coastal transitional environments. In the more advanced phases, Oceanography is divided into five areas of professionalization: Geological Oceanography, Biological Oceanography, Physical Oceanography, Chemical Oceanography and the area of ​​Environmental Management and Education. The course provides the possibility of scientific initiation internships in various research laboratories in all areas of oceanography. It also allows for non-mandatory internships with companies.
