When sanded, it produces fine chips and dust that melt and accumulate on the edges of the sanded surface. The chips are matte and sticky, and the sanded area has a matte sheen. Glued only with polyurethane adhesives (Desmacol, etc.). Good adhesion. To improve adhesion when applying glue, the TEP surface is treated with a dichloramine-based mordant (3-5% solution in acetone or ethyl acetate). The sole is less resistant to breakage than rubber, but has good abrasion resistance. The sole retains heat satisfactorily and does not slip on snow, making it well-suited for winter. It can be polished by wiping the sole surface with ethyl acetate or acetone. It is easy to sand. It is cheaper than polyurethane.
