In this video I'll show you a side of Africa you probably never heard of. I've just arrived in Kigali, the capital city of Rwanda, which is often referred to as the cleanest country in Africa. Join me! Rwanda has earned the nickname the "Singapore of Africa" due to its rapid economic transformation, strict anti-corruption policies, and ambitious vision to become a high-tech, service-based continental hub. Both nations share the challenges of lacking natural resources while heavily prioritizing human capital, foreign investment, and infrastructure. Rwanda is a landlocked country in East Africa. Known as the "Land of a Thousand Hills" for its high elevation and rolling terrain, its geography is dominated by mountains in the west and savanna in the southeast. Its capital and largest city is Kigali, located at the centre of the country, at 1,567 metres above sea level. With a population of about 14 million people living within a total area of 26,338 square kilometres (10,169 sq mi), of which land accounts for about 93.7%, Rwanda is the 21st most densely populated country in the world, with an average of about 578 people per square kilometre (1,500 per square mile).
