용인 처인구 '반도체 도로' 5개 노선 추진…예비타당성 조사 선정

Reporter Kim Hyo-seung reports. [Report] This is the Wonsam-myeon Semiconductor Cluster in Yongin, where construction of a semiconductor production facility has recently begun. Connected with the Namsa and Idong-eup Semiconductor National Industrial Complex, which is undergoing compensation procedures this year, this complex is considered the world's largest semiconductor complex. Yongin City has embarked on expanding the road network connecting the two semiconductor complexes. Yongin City announced that the five road projects have been selected for a preliminary feasibility study by the Ministry of Strategy and Finance. The survey targets a 10.4km section of National Route 42, an alternative bypass connecting Namdong and Yangji-myeon in Cheoin-gu, a 6.1km section of National Route 98 between Gorim-dong in Cheoin-gu and Docheok-dong in Gwangju, a 12.1km section of National Route 84 between Idong-eup and Wonsam-myeon in Cheoin-gu, a 12.2km section of National Route 57 between Wonsam-myeon and Mapyeong-dong in Cheoin-gu, and a 1.8km section of National Route 82 between Songjeon-ri in Idong-eup and Myobong-ri in Cheoin-gu. Yongin City believes that the expansion of the semiconductor road will not only improve transportation infrastructure but also significantly contribute to the local economy, and is determined to secure its passage through the preliminary feasibility study. We plan to provide a contract to effectively explain to relevant agencies why this road project is economically and policy-wise sound." Meanwhile, the decision on whether the five roads in the Yongin area will pass the preliminary feasibility study is expected to be made in December of this year, following an interim report and a final analysis by KDI.
