Website Version: https://decipherphysics.com Why we use Alternating Current (Explained Visually) Welcome to the first lecture in my series on the fundamentals of AC Electricity. In this video, we explain why we care about alternating currents in the first place. We give historical context, covering the war of the currents between Nikola Tesla and Thomas Edison. We investigate Faraday's Law, and the Electrical Transformer, to contrast AC Electricity and DC Electricity. Using this, we explain why the victor of the war of currents was inevitable, decided purely by physics.
