I CAN'T BELIEVE What I FOUND Inside These 1970s Shepherd Boots!
In this video, I tackle one of the most disgusting and challenging boot restoration projects I've ever taken on in my workshop. These are original 1970s shepherd boots made by Hoggs to withstand the toughest conditions in the Scottish hills. However, decades of storage rot have completely compromised the linen stitching and the internal foundations. Watch as I pull apart the rotten soles, evict the insects, blast the dried-out leather with a deep foam cleaner, and completely rebuild these legendary boots from the ground up. If you love vintage leather restoration, satisfying ASMR workshop transformations, and heritage shoemaking, this step-by-step teardown is for you. I couldn’t believe what I found inside these vintage 1970s Hoggs shepherd boots. After sitting in damp storage for decades, the soles completely separated—revealing an unbelievable infestation of dense spider webs, cocoons, and dead flies hiding right inside the heel cavity. Can a 50-year-old pair of Scottish heritage boots survive this level of storage rot, or are they going straight to the bin? Watch the full teardown and restoration. G
