大阪モノレール延伸の裏側…巨大PC軌道桁工場と建設現場を歩く
We walked the Osaka Monorail Uryuudo Extension Route to check on the progress of construction. This video starts at the end of the existing track and shows the first half of the extension route, including the planned Matsuomachi Station site, the area around Kadoma Minami Station, the area near the Daito-Tsurumi toll gate, and the area around the provisionally named Konoike-Shinden Station. Along the route, civil engineering work—the initial stages of monorail construction—was underway in various locations, including sewer pipe relocation prior to pier construction, waterway restoration work, pillar foundation construction, rebar cage installation, and concrete pouring. In sections where pillars have begun to be erected, the outline of the elevated structure is beginning to emerge in previously empty spaces, allowing us to visibly confirm the progress of the extension project. Along the way, we also observed a factory where PC track girders are manufactured. The video also introduces the manufacturing site supporting monorail construction, including the storage yard where completed track girders are lined up, the pole trailers that transport them to the site, and the loading equipment using a gantry crane. The track girders are completed at the factory through reinforcement, concrete pouring, curing, and tensioning, and then transported to the site. Around Kadoma-Minami Station, we also confirmed a complex linear plan that allows the track to run while avoiding highway ramps and toll booths. Unlike typical monorails that run on median strips, the Osaka Monorail extension is unique in that construction is proceeding while coordinating with the existing road structure and the expressway. Furthermore, around Neyagawa and Konoike-Shinden Station, work is progressing on elevated sections and station support pillars, and the entire extension is gradually taking shape. The Osaka Monorail Uryuudo Extension is a large-scale urban infrastructure project that goes beyond simply laying tracks; it is being carried out in conjunction with road structures, expressways, underground utilities, and station development. In this article, we walked the first half of the extension and introduced the latest developments on site. In part two, we head toward Uryuudo, the terminal, to check on the construction status of the second half of the extension. Please stay tuned until the end. MJWS provides information on monorails and new transportation systems in Japan and around the world, focusing on on-site reporting and technical explanations.
