Peygamber Efendimizin (s.a.v) Tövbe Sırrı | 1000 Defa Seyyidül İstiğfar Zikri
Dear listeners, in this video, we will recite the 'Sayyid al-Istighfar', the master and greatest of all repentances, 1000 times. Before moving on to the zikr, let's look at the stance we should take against our sins and how mercifully our Lord approaches His repenting servant. Although all his past and future sins were forgiven, the Master of the Universe (PBUH) set an example for us, his ummah, with these words: 'By Allah, I seek Allah's forgiveness and repent to Him more than seventy times a day.' (Bukhari, Daawat, 3) In another hadith, he says: 'O people! Repent to Allah and seek His forgiveness. For I repent to Him a hundred times a day.' (Muslim, Zikr, 42) In another hadith found in Muslim, he expresses this sensitivity with the following words: 'Sometimes my heart forgets, and I ask Allah for forgiveness a hundred times a day.' (Muslim, Zikr, 41) So how should we view our sins? According to what Harith bin Suwayd narrated, the great companion Abdullah ibn Mas'ud (RA) narrated two hadiths to us on this subject. One is from himself as a companion, and the other is a hadith he personally heard from the Prophet (PBUH). In the first hadith narrated by Abdullah ibn Mas'ud (RA), he describes the believer's view of sin as follows: 'A believer sees his sins as if he were sitting under a mountain which he is afraid may fall on him; whereas the wicked person considers his sins as flies passing over his nose.' (Bukhari, Daawat, 4; Tirmidhi, Qiyamah, 50) Immediately after this striking narration, Abdullah ibn Mas'ud (RA) moves on to the second hadith and narrates these hopeful words he personally heard from the Prophet (PBUH): 'Allah is more pleased with the repentance of His believing servant than a person who is traveling in a barren, desolate, and dangerous desert with his riding animal carrying his food and drink. He rests his head and falls asleep from exhaustion. When he wakes up, he finds his animal gone. He searches everywhere but cannot find it. Finally, hungry, thirsty, and exhausted, he says: "Let me return to the place where I lost my animal and sleep there until I die." He lays his head on his arm to die. Suddenly, he wakes up and sees his animal standing right next to him, with his food and drink on it... Allah's joy at the repentance of His believing servant is greater than the joy of this man who found his lost animal with his provisions!' (Muslim, Tawbah, 3; Bukhari, Daawat, 4) While our Lord is so pleased with our repentance, we will turn to Him with the most beautiful of forgiveness prayers, the 'Sayyid al-Istighfar' taught by our Prophet. Our Prophet (PBUH) said: 'The best way to ask for forgiveness is for the servant to say:' Let's witness the recitation and meaning of this magnificent prayer line by line with our hearts: Allâhümme ente Rabbî. (O Allah! You are my Lord.) Lâ ilâhe illâ ente halaktenî. (There is no deity worthy of worship except You. You created me.) Ve enâ abdüke. (And I am Your servant.) Ve enâ alâ ahdike ve va'dike me'steta'tü. (I abide by Your covenant and promise as best I can.) Eûzü bike min şerri mâ sana'tü. (I seek refuge in You from the evil of what I have done.) Ebûü leke bi-ni'metike aleyye ve ebûü bi-zenbî. (I acknowledge Your favor upon me, and I confess my sin to You.) Fağfirlî. (So forgive me.) Fe-innehû lâ yağfirü'z-zünûbe illâ ente. (For surely, no one forgives sins except You.) Our Prophet also gives the glad tidings of this prayer as follows: 'Whoever recites this Sayyid al-Istighfar during the day with firm faith in its reward and virtue and dies before the evening, will be among the people of Paradise. And whoever recites it at night with firm faith in its reward and virtue and dies before the morning, will be among the people of Paradise.' (Bukhari, Daawat, 2, 16; Abu Dawud, Adab, 100-101) Now, with the intention of entering this door of infinite mercy, we begin the Sayyid al-Istighfar zikr 1000 times together. May Allah accept our prayers.
