Ramcharger Shock Tower Mockup and Rear Stretch Progress

1984 Ramcharger rear stretch and shock tower mockup continue in this episode of Ramcharger Garage. In this video, I get the Chevy 64 rear leaf spring setup sitting on its own weight, dial in the shackle angle, and show how much stretch the Ramcharger is gaining as the rear suspension starts to take final shape. I also start mocking up the rear shock towers, cut the floor for clearance, and work through frame fitment, reinforcement plates, and how the new suspension layout will affect bumper mounting and rear structure. This is the point where the Ramcharger rear stretch starts looking real and the fabrication moves from rough mockup toward final welding. If you’re into classic Dodge 4x4 builds, off-road fabrication, custom rear suspension, and garage-built crawler projects, this series shows the full process step by step. More work on the shock towers, shackle hangers, bumper mounts, and doubler setup is still ahead in the build. In this video: Setting the Ramcharger on its own weight with the new rear springs Checking rear shackle angle and suspension geometry Measuring the wheelbase stretch and rear overhang change Mocking up rear shock towers and floor clearance Planning frame reinforcement and bumper mount tie-ins Using template plates to fit the shock towers to the frame Hashtags: #Ramcharger #DodgeRamcharger #WheelbaseStretch #ShockTowers #LeafSpringSwap
