This chapter addresses the Anti-Money Laundering (AML) system in Mexico from the specific perspective of the vulnerable activity of receiving donations, one of the most sensitive for non-profit organizations. In a context of regulatory transformation and in anticipation of the upcoming 2026 Mutual Evaluation, this chapter proposes a discussion that connects the evolution of the legal framework with the real compliance challenges faced by organizations, as well as the implications of these regulations on their operations, sustainability, and advocacy capacity.
