I’m Garrett. I’m 19 years old, and for the last year and a half, I’ve been learning to solo sail the Hawaiian Islands and preparing my boat, a Nor’sea 27 to travel the world. After months at the dock getting ready to leave Hawaii I finally set sail for French Polynesia. Now I’m entering the doldrums at 4 degrees north after an 11-day and 1,100 nautical mile mostly upwind bash from Hawaii.
