Trimbakeshwar Jyotirlinga | One Day Trip | From Mumbai | Complete Guide

Trimbakeshwar town is an ancient Hindu Pilgrim centre located at the source of the Godavari River, the longest river in peninsular India. Trimbakeshwar is abode of one of the twelve Jyotirlingas. Unlike other Jyotirlingas, the Trimbakeshwar Jyotirlinga is unique— the sanctum houses three small lingas symbolizing Brahma, Vishnu, and Shiva, which is why the place is called Trimbak. The present Trimbakeshwar temple was constructed by the third Peshwa Balaji Bajirao (1740-1760) on the site of an old temple. How to reach? All you need to do is catch the 6:05 AM Tapovan Express from Thane, which will reach Nashik by 9 AM. The train ticket costs ₹85. From Nashik, take bus number 245, which costs ₹70. After a 2 hour journey, you’ll reach Trimbak. Here, after standing in the queue for 2–3 hours, you’ll get the divine darshan of Mahadev.
