Mantra Artha Chintanam is the fourth principle of attentive japa taught by Śrī Sanātana Goswāmī. It means remembering the essential meaning of the Mahāmantra while chanting. The conscious mind should hear the sound of the mantra, while the subconscious mind carries the distilled prayer: “O Śrī Rādhā, O Śrī Kṛṣṇa, please engage me in Your service.” Chanting is done for the pleasure of Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu, and through Him, offered to Śrī Śrī Rādhā-Kṛṣṇa.
