Escondi uma câmera e testei se a roupa muda como você é tratado
Do people treat you differently depending on what you're wearing? In this social experiment, we put this question to the test to find out if wearing a suit really changes how strangers perceive, serve, charge, and trust you. In today's Resenha Rentável video, we, Pedro Paracampos and Pietro Krauss, conducted four social experiments. In each experiment, Pedro went through the same situation twice: first dressed casually and then wearing a suit. Meanwhile, Pietro secretly recorded the interactions to document how people actually reacted without knowing they were participating in an experiment. First, we tested whether appearance influences even a simple request for information on the street. Then, we went into designer stores to find out if salespeople from luxury brands would change their service depending on the customer's clothing. Next, we asked taxi drivers how much they would charge for the same ride to Guarulhos Airport. And finally, we borrowed strangers' cell phones to find out if appearance also directly influences trust. The results showed that clothing didn't always make a difference. But as situations began to involve money, status, judgment, and trust, people's behavior began to change. But why does this happen? To understand the results, we investigated two concepts studied by psychology: the Halo Effect and the Impression Formation Continuum Model. They help explain how our brain uses visual cues, such as clothing and appearance, to create first impressions and make quick judgments about status, purchasing power, credibility, and trust. This social experiment shows, in practice, how a simple change in appearance can influence how we are perceived and treated even before someone really gets to know us. 👉 JOIN OUR COMMUNITY: We want to build the future of this channel together with you.
