Petra's Natural Paradise - Wild, Romantic & Full of Life We visited Petra at the end of May in her wild, natural garden. Petra's garden is home to an astonishing variety of plants and animals. These include various garden birds, hedgehogs, martens, grass snakes, and slow worms, as well as amphibians and insects. The latter were still relatively quiet due to the recent cold spell. My favorite was the adorable baby toad living in a planter. There are various water sources for the animals – just no large pond, as Petra's dog would constantly be jumping in with enthusiasm... All the elements of a natural garden are present, such as plenty of deadwood, stones, hedges, and piles of branches. In short, everything that makes a nature gardener's heart beat faster. Petra even provides a little house for the snails and slugs – and little seating areas for the elves in their fairy kingdom... I'm so impressed by things like this – what about you?
