Cheese Spread Recipe Ingredients: Full Batch; 800 g Processed Cheese (Bergkaas), coarsely grated 250 g Rama (margarine) 3 cups Long-Life Milk (Important) Biltong powder, to taste (optional) Single Batch; 400 g Processed Cheese (Bergkaas), coarsely grated 125 g Rama (margarine) 1 ½ cups Long-Life Milk (Important) Biltong powder, to taste (optional) Instructions: Heat: Place the milk and Rama in a saucepan. Heat until the margarine has melted. Add Cheese: Once melted, add the grated processed cheese to the mixture. Whip: Use an electric mixer to beat the mixture for about 5 minutes. Top Tip: It splashes quite a bit! I usually hold a kitchen towel in front of my shirt to keep it clean. Finish: Continue mixing until it becomes beautifully creamy. If you’re using biltong powder, stir it in now to your taste. Bottle: Pour the mixture into clean jars while still warm. Set: Place in the fridge until ice-cold. It will stay fresh in the fridge for about 2 weeks. Note: I usually find the Processed Cheese (Bergkaas) at Makro, as some other supermarkets don't always stock it.
