"One Week Friends" is based on a popular manga by Hazuki Matcha, which has sold over 1.7 million copies. It was serialized in "Monthly Gangan Joker" (Square Enix) from January 2012 to January 2015. An anime TV series aired from April to June 2014, and a stage adaptation was also performed.
