Intertitle - 'The course is 4 miles 836 yards and 30 obstacles have to be negotiated.' Intertitle - 'Our 45 cameramen - the world's record number to be employed on one event.' M/S of all the cameramen carrying their cameras across the field. L/S of packed stands. M/S of a board with the runners on. L/S as the horses are led around the enclosure. M/S of 'Billy Barton', the camera follows him walking, various shots of horses led along. M/S of them with their jockeys on. L/S as the horses are led along to the starting line. M/S as some horses race up the course for practice. Various shots of them at the starting gate. Intertitle - 'Like a regiment of cavalry, the 66 horses charged at the first fence - and marvellously enough they all cleared it!' Slow motion M/S as the horses jump the first fence. Various shots in slow motion and normal speed of horses either jumping or falling at a succession of fences. Intertitle - 'at the third fence about ten fell including Darracq and Mount Etna.' Various shots as they jump and fall. Intertitle - 'safely over the first 5 jumps, Bechers (sic) (Beechers) Brook, with its dreaded 3 feet 3 inch drop, is reached.'
