Ajax Amsterdam Ultras - Best Moments

Ajax Amsterdam is the most successful and supported club in Netherlands and is known for having a very passionate and quality Ultra scene. Ajax is popularly seen as having Jewish roots. In the 1970s, supporters of rival teams began taunting Ajax fans by calling them Jews. Ajax fans, few of whom are actually Jewish themselves, countered this by embracing Ajax's "Jewish" identity: calling themselves "super Jews", chanting "Joden, Joden" (Jews, Jews) at games, and adopting Jewish symbols, such as the Star of David and the Israeli flag. This Jewish image eventually became a central part of Ajax fans' culture. Ajax plays at the "John Cruijff Arena", which has the capacity for around 55000 people and is well-known for the loud and intense atmosphere that Ajax supporters create on big matches. Ajax has a very big fan base and a pretty active Ultra and Hooligan scene. Their biggest group is F-Side, which was founded in 1976 and is the main responsible for bringing atmosphere during Ajax matches. F-Side stays in the south of the stadium, on the lower stand that is called Zuid1. This group also has a few Hooligan subgroups such as Amsterdam Casuals, Perry Boys and Youth Firm. Inside the stand Zuid1 there is also other group called "Ultras Amsterdam", that was formed in 2017 and has many ex-members of the group former group VAK410. In the upper stand, there is other group called Zuid2 that is trying to get all the upper stand filled with Ultras, but are currently not active in the stadium, since they got banned by their own club. Ajax also has other smaller groups, such as Schorem Amsterdam, Diablo Boys and VAK422. All these groups together form the organized supporter scene of Ajax. Ajax groups are known for their loud support, nice tifos (especially when VAK410 was still active), good pyro shows and also for some famous riots and clashes. Ajax had another very famous and active Ultra group in the past, the VAK410, which was formed in 2001 and dissolved in 2016 due to problems with the Ajax management, like being forced to move to the Zuid1 stand. Their members mostly went to the F-Side and other helped forming Ultras Amsterdam. There were also two other known groups in Ajax that are no longer active, the North Up Alliance and the South Crew (this group joined VAK410 in 2015). Ajax groups (especially the F-Side) have a big friendship with the lads from Cracovia (Poland), have good contacts with Gate 13 (Panathinaikos) and also with Mauves Army (Anderlecht). Ajax normal fans generally also have a good relation with Tottenham Hotspurs fans since both clubs have jewish roots. Ajax´s biggest rival is Feyenoord, with who they play the biggest game in Dutch football, the “De Klassieker”.
