Commercial Spaceport $600 million coming to Dominican Republic | Launch On Demand Cabo Rojo

The company behind the proposed Dominican Republic commercial spaceport is , also known as Launch On Demand (LOD) Holdings, a Florida-based aerospace infrastructure company. Key details: The project is planned for Oviedo, in Pedernales. Estimated investment is over US$600 million. The goal is to build the first commercial spaceport in the Dominican Republic. The company has stated a target of breaking ground in late 2026 and aiming for the first launch around 2028. One point worth noting is that while LOD Holdings has experience in launch consulting and regulatory support, some media reports have questioned its track record in actually constructing large-scale spaceport infrastructure, so the project remains in the planning and development stage rather than construction. This is not a SpaceX project. SpaceX is not the developer. The Dominican project is being promoted and developed by LOD Holdings, although the company has said it intends to attract multiple launch providers to use the facility once built.
